This disc contains the newly made and quite different "Director's Cut" episodes 21 and 22. Souryuu Asuka Langley (惣流・アスカ・ラングレー) is on the cover for a second time.

Two more inserts. Interesting to note: This volume was released on February 4, 1998 while volume 10 had been released on December 5, 1996. The delay was likely caused by the Death and Rebirth/End of Evangelion movie projects, and the "Director's Cut" episodes.
